Being able to make intentional decisions about how to engage challenging situations or emotions.   

Requirements to Mental Flexibility: 

  • Self Awareness     
  • Intentionality  

Steps to Develop Mental Flexibility:  

1. Check in with yourself regularly (outside of tough situations) 

2. Check in with yourself during tough situations 

3. Make the conscious choice to take control
