Pretty much every single person I’ve met struggles with some kind of communication skill gap. Even though it’s one of the most important skills we can have, it’s not something any of us learned in school. Like most of the other skills that are important for living a successful/fulfilled life, you are responsible for identifying and learning how to improve your communication skills yourself.
Our ability, or inability, to communicate with others is a central driver of the experiences we have in our lives.
When dealing with our personal relationships, the difference between connecting deeply with the people we care most about or building hollow relationships can often come down to our ability to clearly communicate our feelings and thoughts.
When looking at our professional lives, our ability to sell ideas to the rest of our team and communicate concerns about new projects can go a long way in helping us accomplish more and advance our careers.
