August Review 2017: The Best Month Ever

It’s been quite a while since I’ve taken the time to sit down and review my month so you might be wondering, why now? Well here’s the thing. I have two main issues that are holding me back in life: I spend a lot of time comparing myself to others I forget to celebrate my wins The effects of these two habits (yes, they are habits) on my happiness and mental health has been immeasurable. As a result, I’ve decided to start doing these reviews more often as a way to accomplish the following: Force me to admit to my successes Remind myself of why I’m doing this I can’t necessarily say that I’ll be able to do this every single month, but I will be aiming to do it as often as possible as a way to break the … Read More

Many Failures, Once Success — The Key to a Great Story

GreggBlog0 Comments

If you have ever read a good story, you are already familiar with the format. The would be hero is introduced to the world, they go on an epic quest with a specific goal in mind and after multiple failures, they finally achieve the thing they set out to do. It’s a classic story that has been told over and over again in novels, storybooks, video games, and nearly every aspect of life throughout the ages. But here is something you might not realize… …this story doesn’t only exist in fairy tales. So let me tell you a personal story… Back when I was in high school and first started in the internet marketing world (2009) I was a little cocky and I set a goal for myself: “I’m going to make $1,000,000 by the age of 21…” I said … Read More

Consume the Best to Be the Best

Being the “best” is often promoted as a goal or destination in life. The idea is spoken about often that you can just work hard at a skill day in and day out and eventually you will become the absolute best at that skill. One of my favorite life coaches, Tony Robbins, teaches his students to attain a level of mastery over the four states of their life: Mental state Physical state Emotional state Financial state He teaches that, by taking control over these states, one can achieve true success in their life. To build on that, I believe that in order to take control and master those four states of your life, you need to surround yourself with … Read More

Do Meta Tags Matter for Podcasting?

GreggBlog0 Comments

This is a question I’ve gotten a few times now. “Do meta tags really matter for your podcast?” To be honest I wasn’t sure how to answer this at first. Does it matter? I was taught to do it so it must matter right? Well, I did some testing and as with most things we’ve been taught, the answer is “not really”. I know, I know, that’s a bit counter-cultural so let me explain. The point of the meta tag Meta tags are by no means a new technology, they’ve been around ever since the early days of search and thus their purpose can be found in that world. Meta tags make it possible for search engines to categorize information in order to better serve that information to the correct audience. Let’s say you write an article about restaurants in … Read More

April 2016: Big Successes, Lessons Learned, and What I Worked On

GreggBlog0 Comments

7 months ago I sat at my desk, which was placed in a very dark corner next to the office supplies, at my full-time job. I can’t remember what exactly I was doing or what project we were working on but I can tell you exactly what I felt in that moment. Dread. Anxiety. Frustration. I wasn’t happy. I hadn’t been happy in months. The problem wasn’t necessarily the job. Honestly as much as it wasn’t a good fit for me there are a lot of people who would probably count their blessings if they had it. The problem was that I felt stuck. I felt like I had no options and no opportunity to make a change. Fast forward to today and I’m still alive. I left my job 6 months ago and since then have been able to … Read More
